Questions from candidates
Are roles in Cairo, remote or hybrid?
Hybrid, based in Cairo, because some of our projects sit inside client environments with access requirements that call for time on site.
What does the take-home task involve?
A problem drawn from projects we have delivered, scoped to a few hours. If we ask for more than that, we pay for it. We look at how you reason through a real constraint and the decisions you make along the way.
How long does the process take?
About two weeks from start to finish: a short technical conversation, the take-home task, a working session where we change the requirements halfway through, and a conversation with the founders. You receive a decision within a few days either way.
What is the stack?
NestJS, Java, and Python on the backend, React, Next.js, and TanStack on the front end, React Native and Expo for mobile, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle for data, and LangChain, Mastra, and custom orchestration on the AI side. We choose tools against each client’s requirements, so experience across several frameworks is a real strength here.
You use AI agents in your pipeline. What does that mean for an engineer here?
It means much of the repetitive preventive maintenance is automated, so you spend your time on design, integration, and the decisions that need your judgment. Review is matched to the risk of each task, and you are accountable for what ships under your name.
Do you hire juniors?
Occasionally, when a senior engineer has the capacity to mentor them closely, because we want every junior engineer to have that support from the start.
