Privacy policy

This website is run by Determinds Solutions LLC (“Determinds”, “we”), a limited liability company registered in Egypt, with offices in Cairo and in Kansas City, MO, USA. We decide how the personal information collected through this site is used.

We handle personal data in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and, where they apply to you, other data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

When you send a project inquiry through the form on our Contact page, we receive:

• your name, organization and email address
• your phone number, if you choose to give it
• your industry, what you are looking for and when, and how you heard about us, as you select them
• the description of the problem you write in the form

When you book a consultation through the calendar on our Contact page, our scheduling provider receives the details you enter, such as your name, email address and any notes you add, and shares them with us.

When you apply for a role, we receive whatever you email to careers@determinds.com, such as your CV, portfolio links and covering note.

When you visit, our analytics and advertising tools record the pages you visit and what you do on them, such as sending an inquiry, booking a consultation or clicking an email address; the page or ad that referred you; your browser and device type; and an approximate location derived from your IP address. If you arrive from one of our ads or from another website, the site also keeps a note of where you came from in your browser’s local storage for up to 90 days: the ad campaign or referring site, the page you landed on, and when. If you send an inquiry or book a consultation, the note is sent with it, so we know which ad or site led to it.

We use inquiry details to reply to you, to scope the work you describe and to keep a record of our conversation. We use applications only to assess you for the role you applied for, or for a similar one if you agree.

We use analytics to understand which pages are read and how people find the site, so we can improve it. We use ad measurement to see which of our ads, on the platforms where we advertise, bring people to the site and lead to inquiries and bookings.

We do not sell personal information. When you send an inquiry or book a consultation, we tell the advertising platforms we use that it happened, so that each can match it to a visit from one of its ads and show us which ads work. With it we may send your email address and name as one-way codes (SHA-256 hashes) rather than as you typed them, your IP address, and the identifier the platform added to the ad you clicked. The platforms do not receive what you wrote in your inquiry, and we do not use what you send through our forms for advertising in any other way.

We process inquiry and application details because you ask us to — to reply to you and to take the steps you request before any contract — and, where the law requires it, with your consent. We run analytics and ad measurement in our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and whether our advertising works; the cookie notice tells you about them on your first visit, and you can limit them as described below. We may also process data where we must do so to comply with the law.

When you first visit, a notice tells you that the site uses cookies for analytics and to measure our ads. These tools load with the page; the notice’s button only closes it.

We use two kinds of tools. Analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, measure how the site is used; some set first-party cookies to tell visits apart, and others measure visits without cookies. Advertising tools, such as those of LinkedIn and OpenAI (ChatGPT), let each platform where we advertise show us which visits, inquiries and bookings came from its ads; some also give us anonymous totals about visitors, such as industry and job function, and let us show our ads again to people who have visited. None of them tells us who you are.

One strictly necessary cookie, determinds_consent, remembers for six months that you closed the notice, after which it shows again. You can block or delete cookies and other site data in your browser settings or with a content blocker, and the site works the same without them. Many of these tools also offer their own controls, such as Google’s browser add-on that stops Google Analytics, or the advertising settings in your account on each platform.

We use service providers to run the site and its tools. Most process data only on our behalf and under our instructions; the advertising platforms also handle it under their own privacy policies, for example to measure and show ads. They include:

• our hosting and storage providers, which serve the website and store its content, its files and the inquiries sent through the form
• our scheduling provider, which handles consultation bookings
• our email provider, which delivers the notifications our forms send to our team
• the analytics and advertising tools described above

You can ask us at any time for the current list of these providers by writing to info@determinds.com.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Our team works from Cairo, Egypt and Kansas City, MO, USA, and our providers may process data in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for transferring data abroad.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for. We keep inquiries while we respond to you and manage any work that follows. We keep applications while the hiring process for that role lasts and, if you agree, afterwards so that we can consider you for future roles, until you ask us to delete them. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings of each tool.

We may keep information for longer where the law requires us to, or where we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent you have given.

To make a request, email info@determinds.com. We will answer within the time the law applicable to you allows, and may ask you to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Only authenticated members of our team can reach the content management system where inquiries are stored, and we use providers that encrypt data in transit. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet, so please do not send confidential material through the inquiry form; we are glad to agree a non-disclosure agreement first.

This website is meant for businesses and job applicants. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

When we change this policy we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
